What materials are the tags made of?
Our Aluminium Tags are made from anodised aluminium to prevent scratching. Anodising makes the metal harder and more durable.
Our Brass Tags are made from environmentally friendly solid brass. A plating transparent coating is applied to slow down the oxidisation process.
Our Rhodium Plated Tags are coated for extra protection and durability.
Does my tag come with a ring to attach to the collar?
All of our pet tags come with a strong steel split ring.
How long with my tag last?
Tags worn by pets fade or deteriorate for many reasons. The most common reason is because the tag has rubbed against wet fur on a regular basis, without being cleaned and dried (especially if you have a doggy that loves the water)! Brass tags are much softer than Aluminium tags and do not withstand rubbing very well. Keeping a brass tag clean and dry, with the occasional polish, should help it last longer.
What should I engrave on my dog tag?
The Control of Dogs Order (1992) mandates that all dogs in public places must wear ID that includes the owner's surname and address. The house number and postcode will suffice. A phone number is optional, but sensible. You might also like to add ‘Microchipped’ if there is enough room as this will notify anyone who finds your pet that your details are stored on the national database at any vets centre.
Will my engraving be centred?
Yes, we centre the text vertically and horizontally on the tag. The preview may not show accurately how the engraving will look, it is there for you to check the text you are submitting. Please do not include blank lines or extra spaces to try and centre the preview text.
Can I request a different font?
We have carefully selected 4 standard font options which cover most style requests and fit most tags - Arial, Times New Roman, Monotype Corsiva and Poor Richard.
The text on my tag has changed slightly. Why is this?
Occasionally we may change the layout of your engraving due to the shape of the tag and the amount of text and characters you request for each line.
Can I change my order once placed?
Unfortunately due to the speed our engraving teams work we are unable to change or amend any orders once placed.
What if I notice a mistake on my tag when I receive the order confirmation?
Once engraved we can't make any changes, so please notify us as soon as you notice any mistake so we can do our best to try and amend your order in time.
Why didn't I receive an order confirmation?
We send the order confirmation to the email address provided. If you have not received your email order confirmation please check your junk or spam folder.
